Audi will not have the Up!, but it would have the Q1

When we all thought that the Volkswagen Up! would be a multi-brand car with a model dedicated to most of the brands that make up the group, Rupert Stadler, CEO of Audi, has come close to confirming that the brand with the four rings will not have its own version of the Up!

The reason would be quite simple: there would no longer be room for a model below the A1, the brand’s entry-level model. At the same time, a gap would be left below the Q3, which is precisely where the plans for the Q1 crossover come into play and which Audi has already been considering.

Returning to the Up!, so far Suzuki and Seat will have their own models just like Skoda. For the moment, the Up! has not been a concern for Audi, which has 37 current models in its catalogue and plans to add 5 more models within the next 3 years.

As for the Q1, there is still no final decision that gives us additional clues, but it has a very good chance of arriving sooner than we think among the models from Ingolstadt.
