Bimmerfest 2011 returns stronger than ever

Bimmerfest, an event that began more than ten years ago as a get-together among private individuals in Santa Bárbara who were regulars on a small forum, has become one of the BMW largest gatherings in all of North America, so this time it has had to move to a much bigger venue, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
As in recent years, this gathering has once again brought together owners of BMW vehicles from across the country. The organizers have counted more than 3,000 vehicles from the German brand at this latest meeting, in which even the North American division of BMW takes an active part.

Among the models on display were vehicles such as the new BMW 1 Series M, several examples of the 8 Series E31, including the legendary 850CSi powered by the marvelous 5.6-litre V12 that would later be fitted to the McLaren F1, plenty of E30 M3s, a Z3 Coupé… and even a unit of the legendary 745i E23 powered by a turbocharged inline six-cylinder.
Among the most noteworthy models we must mention an extremely rare M1 race car and a magnificent 1972 E9 3.0 CSi coupé, a rarity in the automotive industry and, to put it mildly, a spectacle just to be able to see it. Without further ado, I’ll leave you with what really matters, especially if you couldn’t attend the event: a gallery of images to satisfy your curiosity.
