BMW clarifies which is the only credible rival to its Serie 1 M Coupé

With the new Serie 1 M Coupé BMW simply isn’t afraid of anything or anyone. Proof of this is the latest statements made by none other than the project managers at the Detroit Motor Show.

For example, among those statements perhaps it’s worth mentioning those made directly by Mr. Kay Segler, who dared to respond to everyone who believes the new Serie 1 M Coupé is basically an M3 with a Serie 1 body.

To all these people, Mr. Segler argued that this is by no means the case, since “the M3 is the M par excellence, an icon that plays in a league of its own. If you’re looking for a much better driving sensation, your vehicle is an M3″, basically due to the limitations the Serie 1 M has. For example, the M button on the Serie 1, unlike the M3, only adjusts the throttle response, nothing more.

As you can see, BMW is very confident in the impressive performance of a vehicle like the Serie 1 M Coupé, though, granted, while asking permission from the always impressive M3. What’s more, according to one of the brand’s executives, a vehicle like the Serie 1 M Coupé does have a rival on the market: a used BMW M3.

Without further ado, here are some photos of the model taken at the Detroit Show
