BMW gives the i4 a facelift

With all-wheel drive and 400 kW of combined power from its two electric motors, the new BMW i4 M50 represents a major step up for anyone looking for superior on-road performance

Three years after the start of sales of the BMW i4, the Bavarian brand has just announced the renewal of this model. The 2025 BMW i4 will thus come with a few changes, including a new set of Full LED front lights and rear lights that also use laser technology. The company has not revealed, however, any data related to its technical specifications, so we can deduce that there will be no major changes in this area.

The BMW i4 is one of the best-selling electric models from the Bavarian manufacturer, so the decision to give it a facelift and introduce some improvements now that it has reached the halfway point of its commercial life seems the right one. The new BMW i4 will be available with up to 400 kW of power and 795 Nm of torque. These specifications correspond to the i4 M50 version. The maximum range, on the other hand, will reach 600 km if we opt for the i4 eDrive40 version.

Depending on the version chosen, the battery pack will be either 68.7 or 84.3 kWh. BMW also promises that a full charge -we understand that up to 80 percent- should not take more than 30 minutes.

Even before this renewal, the BMW i4 was already one of the most interesting electric cars on the market

Focusing now on the announced design change: the company highlights that the new adaptive Full LED front lights will become a standard component, while the rear lights with laser technology will be optional. New paint colours and new alloy wheels complete the package of novelties we will find.

Inside, the new BMW i4 will integrate version 8.5 of the BMW iDrive infotainment system. The BMW Live Cockpit Professional will finally be available on this model, including a full-colour Head-Up Display and the possibility of seeing navigation directions on the instrument cluster in augmented reality.

BMW states that production of the new i4 will start this coming July at the company’s plant in Munich (Germany). For now, BMW has not revealed the price list, but there should be no major variations compared with the current model.
