If you enjoy action films, the ‘Mission: Impossible‘ saga should be on your list of favorites. The films starring Tom Cruise are a mix of action, espionage, cutting-edge technology and cars, with chases pulled off in pure Hollywood style. The latest instalment of the saga, ‘Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning’, has a second very prominent star throughout the film: several models of BMW, both cars and motorcycles.

The best known, perhaps because it also appears in the trailer, is a BMW M3 finished in Silverstone Metallic, whose fate is not the most desirable for a sports car of its stature. A wide selection of BMW S1000RR star in another exciting chase along the roads of Morocco, where many of them end up wrecked as a result of riding at high speeds next to Cruise. That is why both have earned a place in the BMW Weltz in Munich, Germany exhibition.

Although several units of the M3 were damaged during filming, one survived, at least partially. After being used in various stunts, it has a large number of bullet holes and some dents scattered across its bodywork. To make everything safe, the interior was fitted with stronger seat belts and safety cables, while the motorcycles (two units are on display) were finished in gloss black to give them a macabre look worthy of the ‘villains of the film’.

It is worth mentioning that the filming, which began in August 2014 in Vienna and ended in March 2015, also features a BMW 340i, an X5 and a 640i Cabrio. The cast is still headed by Tom Cruise, joined by Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris and Jeremy Renner. Since its release, it has already grossed more than 600 million euros.
