BMW M6 2012, new rumours and spy photos

New spy photos and details about the next generation of the BMW M6, a model that is reportedly set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show

Little by little the new BMW M6 2012 is revealing more and more of its new look, so that, as you can see in its latest spy photos, very little is being hidden apart from the details that will make it unique, such as the front end, wings, side skirts, rear bumper and the slight but always attractive rear spoiler positioned high on the rear window or right on the boot lid

All of this is very good, as is its new engine, a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, exactly the same unit fitted to the new BMW M5, capable of delivering 560 hp and 680 Nm of peak torque, with which it should be able, among other things, to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds

Without a doubt these figures may surprise more than a few people, and they would fall short if we take into account the rumours put out by Autocar. According to the English publication, the new BMW M6 will apparently be far more performance-oriented than its predecessor, thanks for example to a bodywork whose panels are said to be made of carbon fibre, while new elements such as carbon-ceramic brakes, a much sportier suspension and new lightweight alloy wheels appear

Despite this clearly sporty orientation, the German brand will bet on comfort in the new BMW M6. Even so, they reportedly appear more than cautious when saying that their sports car should not be compared with beasts such as the new generation of the Porsche 911. Whatever they say, it is more than likely that the new M6 will be presented at the Geneva Show, so we will soon have our answers
