BMW will present the X1 2014 in Detroit

Whether or not fans of BMW like it, the M3/M4 pair is clearly going to be the centre of attention at the Bavarian brand’s stand at next year’s Detroit Show. However, these models will not be the only new arrivals from the manufacturer at the American show. The small update that the X1 will receive for next year will also be on display.
The exterior barely changes, and the most significant modifications are the new daytime running lights, the 17-inch wheels with a new design and a brown shade that has been added to the SUV’s range of exterior colours. In the cabin, a softer-touch material has been used to cover the upper part of the dashboard, and the optional finishes can be chosen in colours such as gloss black, pearl chrome or matt red.

BMW will also update the ConnectedDrive range of services for the X1 in spring 2014. This will be expanded with the Online Entertainment music service (which provides unlimited access to various catalogues such as Rara) and the ECO PRO Analayser app (which gives the driver advice on how to drive using less fuel).
Users will be able to benefit from them if they purchase the navigation system, and will have the option of subscribing to these services at any time, even after the vehicle has been bought. These services are installed in the car via apps on a smartphone or via the SIM card that the X1 carries. If opting for a smartphone, BMW notes that the aforementioned apps will only be compatible with iPhone and the Android operating system.
