With the BMW iX3 about to go on sale, the X3 M50 xDrive receives an update that provides the engine with more power and a bodywork package.

The BMW iX3 is about to go on sale, although the BMW X3 remains the model it is based on and does not want to be left behind when it comes to new features. So the German brand has decided to focus on the BMW X3 M50 iDrive, which is the top of the range for the model. It is going to receive an update that gives it more power and greater equipment, thanks to the Black package it incorporates as a novelty.

The engine fitted to this update is the same 3.0-litre block, with the mild hybrid system, although it now enjoys 44 CV more power. With this modified engine, it reaches 437 CV, matching the BMW M350. With this power, the new BMW X3 M50 xDrive can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.

This brings it very close to the previous version, with 0.2 seconds less. It is important to point out that this engine complies with the EURO 7 regulations, so it has no problem remaining in the increasingly demanding European market.

The Black Package

To give this model greater presence, the Black Package has been made available to buyers, created exclusively for this model. The car keeps the standard M bumpers. The four exhaust outlets are also retained. The novelty is the 22-inch black alloy wheels and gloss black brake calipers.

In addition, body logos have been added, with contrasting silver outlines. But if the buyer wants to make their model even sportier, they can add accessories from the M Performance range.

The Black Package includes elements from the BMW Individual catalogue. Among them, decorative trim covering the dashboard, door panels, part of the seats and the centre armrest. The seats also feature Vernasca leather upholstery with blue stitching and piping, creating a striking contrast against the black. The headrests have the M logo embossed on them.

There are also black floor mats with the same blue details, with a touch of leather on the steering wheel and crystal-finish CraftedClarity controls.

Other novelties for the X3

In addition to this package, BMW has announced other updates for the entire X3 family. Among them, a Softskin PVC trim opposite the central screen, revised stitching on the instrument panel and wider ambient lighting. The glovebox also introduces a new opening system.

The M Sport and M Performance versions incorporate dark silver sill plates with black M logos. The X3 30e xDrive and M50 xDrive models feature stainless steel protective trims on the boot sill. The four-cylinder engine fitted to the X3 20 xDrive has also been updated to comply with the Euro 7 regulation.
