Brabus takes on the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing

The German tuner Brabus brings us its special version of the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing under the name Brabus Widestar, introducing important aesthetic changes as well as engine improvements. Among these changes, the rear has been widened by 2 centimetres, also adjusting the rear axle.
This allows Brabus’s SLS to have 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch ones at the outer rear. Alongside this, a carbon-fibre bodykit is also added, which allows for a new diffuser or side air outlets.
Beyond the aesthetics, Brabus also works on the suspension with an electronically adjustable suspension kit with damping control, which allows this SLS to lower the ride height by about 30 mm. Inside, the leather finishes stand out, along with a new sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals.

Mechanically, very little has been changed, although thanks to a new, considerably lighter exhaust line it manages to extract an extra 10 CV from the 6.2-litre V8 engine. Finally, it’s worth noting that it will be presented at the Essen Motor Show.
