Bumblebee and the Chevrolet Camaro part ways: the acclaimed Transformers returns to his roots as a Volkswagen Beetle
The legendary Transformers saga will return to the big screen at Christmas with Bumblebee as the protagonist, who takes the form of a Volkswagen Beetle.

If you’re a fan of the automotive world, you’ve surely got movies about cars on your list of hobbies, which become even more exciting when a touch of action is added. That’s the case with Transformers, a franchise that took its first steps as an animated series combining cars with alien robots but, after its leap to the big screen, saw its success and quality grow considerably. However, the Transformers films are far from dead, and one of the most acclaimed robots, Bumblebee, is back in a big way with a solo film.
The legendary Transformers saga has wanted to return in style and, although Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobot leader’s subordinates won’t be making an appearance, the film promises. In the early films Bumblebee was also part of the main cast, but the studio decided to give this small – but tough – robot his own spin-off.
In the first films we saw Bumblebee take the form of a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro, a model that looked neglected and old, but that car lovers like us went crazy for. As the first installment unfolds, the young Autobot feels attacked after receiving some criticism about his appearance as a car, so he decides to take a look at a fifth-generation Camaro, but things change again.

In its origins, when Bumblebee arrived on Earth he took the form of a small yellow Volkswagen Beetle, something reflected in the animated series. After this, the directors of this new installment have decided to give him a role more suited to his early days, so the yellow Autobot will return to the big screen as a Volkswagen Beetle.
This will awaken an undeniable sense of nostalgia for those of us who grew up with the Transformers series, where the little Bumblebee fought fiercely against the Decepticons. At the same time, Sam Witwicky will no longer be his faithful companion in hardship; instead we meet a young woman who seems to be in the same situation as the other protagonist: buying her first car.

After this, the owner of this Volkswagen Beetle will quickly realize that it is not an ordinary car, since it hides a great secret within. At the same time, action will be served on a silver platter, since in the trailer we can see Bumblebee adopt his combat mode to face some enemy.
For now we don’t have more details about this new Transformers film, put it will make its debut at Christmas this year. Meanwhile, we can enjoy the news that Bumblebee will return to his roots in the form of a Volkswagen Beetle and that this new film will be set a few years before the arrival of Sam and the other Autobots.
