Car brands celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Vigo Motor Show

Like other countries with a long tradition in the automotive industry, Spain has several motor shows. The two most important are held in Madrid and Barcelona, although the third largest moves to Galicia and makes Vigo its home. This city, where the PSA factory is located, hosts from today the 25th edition of the Vigo Motor Show, very special since it has been held for a quarter of a century.

The main brands will be present at the Vigo event, where the models of Aston Martin are also being presented for the first time. The famous British luxury brand wants to be present at the Vigo Motor Show too and has brought its main proposals there to show visitors to this Galician event.

Across an area of around 20,000 square metres, 48 brands will showcase their novelties for the domestic market, but a show of these characteristics not only features exhibition activities; it will also have a series of parallel activities that will complement the agenda throughout the days it is open.

I Supercross + Freestyle ‘Vigo Car and Motorcycle Show’

This spectacle will take place on the last weekend of the 2016 Vigo Motor Show, in pavilion no. 3 of IFEVI. The best supercross riders will race, followed by a freestyle exhibition. The track is 100 metres long and 35 metres wide, and has been covered with earth transported by 250 lorries.

Motorcycle Day

Motor Day does not only include cars, as motorcycles will also be present. On Sunday 3 April the novelties of two-wheelers can be enjoyed, on a day when they will be the main protagonists. Motorcyclists from across the region have been invited to attend with their vehicles and, in addition to an exhibition of competition motorcycles, they will be offered a three-euro discount on admission.

Supercar Gathering

On Sunday 3 April there is also this gathering of supercar owners, which will fill the show grounds with these luxury vehicles whose engine power will thrill attendees. Models expected at the event include the Porsche Carrera GT, Nissan GTR R35, Maserati GT, plus about a dozen Ferrari, such as the 550 Maranello, 355, 308, F430, and so on. A great opportunity to see some of the most powerful and “super” cars in automotive history.

IX Porsche Gathering

In addition, on 9 April the gathering of Porsche will be held, which has been taking place within the framework of the Vigo Motor Show for nine years. It will set off through the provinces of Pontevedra and Ourense, bringing together many owners of the legendary German marque along with their cars.

Slot car tracks, driving simulators, scale model exhibition…

Visitors to the 25th Vigo Motor Show will also be able to enjoy other activities such as driving simulators, where they can experience the thrill of getting behind the wheel of one of the cars on display, take part in races on the installed slot tracks, or enjoy an exhibition of scale vehicles of Ferrari. Everything is designed to promote the automotive industry and let visitors experience what it feels like to be part of it.

Admission will cost 7 euros for adults and 5 euros for children, although parallel activities such as the supercross competitions will cost somewhat more, 15 and 10 euros respectively, which includes admission to the show grounds.
