Most large saloons can fit three child seats using the seat belts, but it is always better to opt for the ISOFIX system. This system is specially designed to hold child restraint systems, offers greater safety and allows the child seat to have better retention and not move.

Fortunately, more and more passenger cars now have this type of restraint on the three rear seats, which allow for up to three ISOFIX anchor points and therefore three child seats to be used at the same time. Skoda Kodiaq

The Skoda Kodiaq is the flagship of the Czech brand and has a rear space of 145 centimetres. The central rear seat is slightly narrower than the other two, but it is suitable for fitting a small group 0 or 1 seat. Two somewhat larger seats can be fitted on the side seats without problems.

Kia Sorento

The Korean model also offers enough space for three child seats and ISOFIX anchor points to fit them securely. It has a shoulder width of 147 centimetres, so the three child restraint systems can be well positioned without any space problems.

Ssangyong Rodius

This model has a width of 157 centimetres at the rear. Very suitable for comfortably fitting three child seats and travelling with children without problems. Its size is considerable, and in Korea the same platform is used to create a minibus, so space is not an issue for this model.

Other models suitable for three child seats

MPVs, although they are losing favour with car buyers, remain the most common and practical vehicles for families. So we cannot fail to mention models such as the Renault Espace, the Ford Galaxy and other MPVs. Above all, it is important to find out well about the availability of three ISOFIX anchor points so that children are well protected in their child restraint systems.

An anchor based on the seat belt can also be used if not all ISOFIX anchor points are available. Of course, it is always advisable to use the ISOFIX anchors to ensure the safety of the little ones in case of any unforeseen event.
