Caterham Super Seven 600 and 2000, two modern cars with a classic spirit

During the first week of February, the Retromobile Show Paris takes place, an event that brings classic vehicles but also others that, although modern, have that classic touch that makes them perfect for nostalgia enthusiasts. And if there is one brand that offers vehicles of this kind, it is Caterham. We already know several models from the brand, but now two new ones arrive, the Caterham Super Seven 600 and the Caterham Super Seven 2000.

The two vehicles are very similar, although they offer different features. Both models share many common elements that make them very alike. For example, they have a chrome fuel cap and a steering wheel covered in Moto-Lita leather. The rear panel is also similar, and the exhaust and rear lights, featuring LED technology, are identical as well. The wheels are 14-inch, although each model has a different design.

On the outside, they come in all of the brand’s traditional colours, such as Gravity Black, Exocet Red, Vintage Green and Firecracker Yellow. In addition, new colours join them, such as Bourbon, Ashdown Green, Windsor Blue and Fawn. As always, there are many customisation possibilities so that the buyer can configure their Caterham exactly as they prefer.

Caterham Super Seven 600

The entry-level version features a turbocharged 660 cc Suzuki engine producing 84 CV. This variant shares its chassis with the Caterham Seven and shares many of its characteristics with it. The brand defines it as “a car for those who want to enjoy a Sunday drive feeling the wind, but who are not obsessed with power or with the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration“.

Caterham Super Seven 2000

In this case, the car uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Duratec engine. This engine already delivers 170 CV, so it is much more impressive. The chassis is the same as that used by other Caterham models, but it can be fitted with additional options, such as a rear anti-roll bar, adjustable pedal boxes and ventilated brake discs with four-piston calipers on the front wheels. In addition, it is available with a standard chassis and a larger chassis.

Both variants can add a limited-slip differential. The price of the Caterham Super Seven 600 starts at 36,895 euros, while the Super Seven 2000 is available from 51,195 euros.
