Starting in 2011, the Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle will join the police department of the United States. This new saloon, which was unveiled in Colorado, will be based on the Australian Holden Caprice.

The Chevrolet Caprice PPV will feature a 6.0-litre V8 engine producing 355 CV, with fuel-saving technology and compatibility with E85 bioethanol. However, a V6 engine with lower performance has also been announced for 2012.

As for its equipment, it comes with all the technology the police need to carry out their work. Highlights include air intakes for cooling the steering and transmission, sports brakes and reinforced suspension. It also offers other optional extras such as a system that locks the doors and rear windows or even a kit that lets it “go unnoticed”. Inside, it includes everything one would expect to find in any police vehicle.
