NASCAR is one of the most spectacular car competitions in the world. Powerful, highly eye-catching cars are the true stars of this competition, and they are built to deliver a very compelling show. For now, there is no electric car event, although they could have a dedicated series for this type of car.

Little by little, manufacturers are working on developing electric cars capable of withstanding the conditions of this kind of race. A few months ago, Ford launched a model designed for this purpose, with the body of the Ford Mustang Mach-e. Now it is Chevrolet‘s turn, which has presented the Blazer EV.R prototype.

The model was presented during the Daytona 500, one of the most important events on the competition circuit. The prototype is very impressive and is equipped with a drivetrain that delivers 1,300 CV. This power comes from three electric motors that reach 15,000 rpm instantly. The battery powering these three motors has a capacity of 78 kWh and uses water cooling.

This prototype was built in collaboration with NASCAR and has been adapted to the demands a model of this kind must meet to face this race. The chassis used is that of the NASCAR Next Gen. The main difference lies in the programmable all-wheel drive, which makes it more versatile. The Next Gen suspension is also included, so it is a vehicle ready for competition.

As for the look of this model, it features a crossover design, so that it is closer to what is most common on the international market.
