Citroën adds one more member to its already extensive range of alternative and eco-friendly vehicles. Joining the Citroën C-Zero, Citroën E-Mehari, Citroën Berlingo Furgón Electric and the LPG-powered models, is the Citroën E-Berlingo Multispace, which will reach the market in June 2017. The perfect showcase for presenting the new E-Berlingo Multispace is the third edition of Vehículos Eléctricos Madrid (VEM 2017), held from 5 to 7 May.
The Citroën E-Berlingo Multispace retains all the features of the combustion-engine version that make it a versatile vehicle for everyday use, leisure time or professional activity. All of this combined in a vehicle with zero CO2 emissions.
The powertrain of the new Berlingo Electric delivers a maximum output of 49 kW (67 CV), with a maximum torque of 200 Nm. The 22.5 kWh total usable battery capacity provides a range of 170 km. It features two charging modes, through two separate flaps: normal, with a charging time of between 8 hours 30 minutes and 15 hours depending on the available electrical current, and fast, which charges the batteries to 80% in 30 minutes.
As regards commercial vehicles, Citroën offers the Berlingo Furgón Electric. It uses the latest technological advances by integrating the various components of the electric traction chain under the front bonnet and within the bodywork. As a result, the cargo area remains free, offering figures identical to those available in conventional versions fitted with diesel or petrol engines: a volume of up to 4.1 m³ and a payload of 620 kg.
At VEM 2017, the Citroën C-Zero will also be on display: a four-seater with a top speed of 130 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 15.9 seconds and offering a range of 150 km. The Citroën E-Mehari recalls the iconic 1968 Citroën Méhari, adopting a modern look and featuring a 100% electric traction chain.
