Confirmed! The Tesla Model 3 can drift
The Tesla Model 3 Performance is hitting the market, and Tesla is celebrating with a video of it drifting as if it were a BMW M3.
The Performance version of the Tesla Model 3 is now available to order in the US. To celebrate, Tesla has unveiled a video of the most performance-oriented version of its electric saloon doing donuts as if it were a combustion sports car.
From 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds
The Model 3 is a relatively light car (450 kg less than a Model S) for a long-range fully electric vehicle: 500 km of range. In this Performance version, it also gains extra power from both the front and rear motors, which allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Thanks to this performance, the car is able to drift sideways as if it were an BMW M3, as we can see in the following video:

Faster than a BMW M3?
According to Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, the Model 3 will feature high-performance 20-inch wheels and will be up to 15% faster than a BMW M3. The Tesla executive also claims that “the car will beat any model in its class on the track”.

The car’s top speed is 250 km/h and it incorporates the same dual-motor propulsion system (one for each axle) as the 4WD version of the standard Tesla Model 3.
