CUPRA aims to reach the US market from 2025
The Spanish brand, which belongs to the Volkswagen Group, wants to reach figures of 500,000 vehicles per year, so it intends to position itself in other markets.

CUPRA was a sub-brand of SEAT dedicated to high-performance cars. But in 2018 it was presented as an independent brand and began to position itself in the market. It did so in its natural territory, Europe and, of course, Spain. However, that does not mean it intends to remain in this market alone, and it expects sustained growth until it reaches other countries.
The brand has worked to promote electric mobility in our country, with an investment of 10 billion euros in this area. By 2025 there will be three electric models available to CUPRA customers. They will be the Terramar, the Tavascan and the UrbanRebel, which will form CUPRA’s electric offensive.

The growth targets of the brand of the Volkswagen Group involve delivering 500,000 vehicles a year in the medium term, so the intention is to open new markets in order to achieve the production and delivery of that number of cars. So far, 200,000 vehicles have been sold in the current markets. The intention is good, but a market expansion is needed.
For now, the expansion has reached several South American countries, such as Chile, Colombia, Peru and also Mexico, one of the main markets for CUPRA. They are also sold in Israel and Egypt, and the brand has just announced its arrival in Australia. The Oceania market could be a good boost and make CUPRA more popular outside the European market.
The remaining challenge is to enter the US market. The decision has not yet been made, but from the executive offices they believe it is the natural destination for these vehicles. Powerful and attractive, two qualities that American consumers will be able to appreciate.
What does seem clear is that China will be left out of those expansion plans. At least for now. In the Asian country there is a good selection of vehicles from the Volkswagen Group under the Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda brands. So, once the CUPRA Garage locations are set up in several Australian cities, work could begin to reach the United States, the market that could allow CUPRA to achieve the sales figures it has forecast.
