CUPRA Born VZ: the sportiest version of the Spanish compact is here, with 326 CV of power
CUPRA is bringing the most radical version of the Spanish compact to Spain, the CUPRA Born VZ, a version with a 326 CV engine that makes it the fastest in the range

CUPRA unveiled its electric bet to the world in 2021 with the launch of its model Born, a fully electric vehicle of which 45,300 units were sold last year and which, according to the brand, has been a success. Now, the Cupra Born already has its own VZ version, which will reach the market in the third quarter of 2024. The letters stand for “veloz” (fast) and distinguish the most sporty models of the Spanish brand.
Thanks to that abbreviation, it has received a significant increase in power, reaching 240 kW (326 CV) and 545 Nm of torque. These figures not only surpass its predecessors, but also position the Born VZ as one of the fastest electric cars in its segment. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds and a top speed limited to 200 km/h are features that are hard to match in its segment and that, of course, cover any need.
But these performance figures require a few chassis improvements. The new suspension geometry includes optimised dampers and springs which, together with improved anti-roll bars, make up the DCC Sport adaptive suspension, a system that ensures precise handling and a smooth ride, absorbing road irregularities without compromising the stability of the vehicle.
The steering, with new hardware and software, offers a more direct and sporty response. The brakes have also been revised to provide a firmer feel and better braking efficiency, especially on the rear axle.

Up to 599 km of range
Despite the increase in performance, the CUPRA Born VZ does not sacrifice efficiency thanks to its 79 kWh battery net capacity, which allows a range of up to 599 kilometres. Charging capacity has also been improved, allowing fast charging from 10 to 80% in under 30 minutes thanks to its 185 kW charging capacity at fast-charging stations.
VZ sporty exterior and interior
The exterior of the Born VZ stands out with two new colour options: Dark Forest and Midnight Black, the former being exclusive to this version. The 20-inch alloy wheels are available with 3D inserts in Copper colour or forged technology.

The interior is no exception, including CUPBucket seats as standard, made with sustainable materials such as SEAQUAL® YARN and DINAMICA®, which use recycled plastics and recycled polyester, respectively. In addition, the seatbacks are made of natural flax fibre, an innovation that reduces the use of plastic and the weight of the vehicle, thereby lowering its environmental impact.
Digitalisation and safety for the best comfort
The CUPRA Born VZ features a new 12.9-inch touchscreen, improving the driver’s interaction with the infotainment system. This system includes a backlit touch bar for adjusting volume and climate control, and one of the best sound systems on the market, developed in collaboration with Sennheiser.

The Born VZ focuses not only on performance but also on safety and comfort. It includes advanced driver assistance systems such as Connected Travel Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. Remote Park Assist and Intelligent Park Assist make parking manoeuvres easier, while the Top View camera provides a complete view of the vehicle’s surroundings.
