CUPRA Formentor eTSI: the cheapest engine of the refreshed SUV is now on sale

Less than 15 days have passed since CUPRA presented the changes the Formentor has received, and the brand has already put it on sale with its cheapest engine, which is just as interesting. Let us recall that the Formentor is the brand’s best-selling model with more than 120,000 units delivered in 2023, which represents a 23% increase over 2022 for a vehicle with “Made in Spain” credentials, as it is designed, developed and manufactured at the SEAT plant in Martorell.

The popular CUPRA model was updated just a few days ago with changes focused especially on its front end, with a new bumper that completely changes the design of the front grille and brings a new, triangular-shaped design to the headlights. At the rear, the changes are not as aggressive and focus on modifying the design and light signature of the light cluster, which now also features the brand logo, illuminated, on the tailgate.

As we also saw in the interior of the new CUPRA Formentor, there are no changes as radical as on the exterior, but there are some very necessary ones, such as the new improved HMI interface, which we hope does its job and does not suffer from the limitations of the previous version. In addition, the infotainment system receives a new touchscreen that grows slightly in size, specifically to 12.9 inches. Another important change is the use of new, more environmentally sustainable materials, with upholstery that includes up to 73% recycled-material microfibre or sustainable leather.

As I say, the new CUPRA Formentor is already on sale, for the time being with a single engine and a single trim level, in which the following items are included as standard equipment:

Mechanically, for now only the most modest engine can be chosen, which now receives the ECO label from the DGT thanks to its 48 V mild-hybrid technology. It is the 1,500 cc petrol engine that produces 150 CV and is paired with the seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, a combination that delivers a combined consumption of 5.6 l/100 km according to the WLTP test cycle.

In this way, the new CUPRA Formentor with the 150 CV eTSI engine is now on sale in Spain with a price that starts at 37,280 euros with the launch campaign the brand has available.
