Daihatsu Curiosities Industry Safety
Daihatsu is the most reliable brand according to the OCU

It is truly curious that a brand so little known, so little valued and generally labelled as a cheap, simple car from which not much should be expected, should become the most reliable brand according to the OCU. It is possible that Daihatsu is using this slogan to overcome the dismal sales figure it has in Spain, hovering around one hundred per year.
We are not going to question the quality of the report by the Organización de Consumidores y Usuarios, but perhaps the number of cars sold should have been taken into account. Brands such as Dacia and Smart also stand out among the leaders, leaving aside others such as Volvo, which sit further down the table. You can see the full ranking after the jump.

Mercedes, Audi and BMW rank among the top 20, and Alfa Romeo and Fiat among the top 30, somewhat confirming the myth that they are dull cars. It is not the most rigorous study, but at least it places many Japanese brands at the top and the Italians behind, which is a good result.
