De Tomaso is reborn and will present its new model at the Goodwood Festival
De Tomaso’s 60th anniversary will be celebrated with the launch of a new model called Project P at the Goodwood Festival.

De Tomaso, the historic Italian brand that created the legendary De Tomaso Pantera, is back stronger than ever. This has been made possible thanks to the efforts of the team at Apollo Automobili and Ideal Team Ventures. De Tomaso is reborn and will present its new model at the Goodwood Festival.
The reality is that Ideal Team Ventures, ITV, acquired the rights to De Tomaso back in 2014, but the official reactivation of the historic brand will take place during the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this year. It will take place from July 4th onwards, just in time to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the company.
The rebirth of De Tomaso will be accompanied by the public presentation of a new car under the brand’s emblem. For now it is called
Project P
, and no further details have been revealed. It has only been announced that it will be developed together with technical partners of worldwide renown and by the same team that is part of Apollo.
Ryan Berris, general manager of De Tomaso and CMO, has noted that “since acquiring De Tomaso, we have been working secretly behind the scenes on a world-class revival strategy with the intention of making our effort public for the 60th anniversary. When the new car debuts this summer, not only will another special vehicle be added to the brand’s heritage, but the story will finally be told.”
De Tomaso Returns at Goodwood
According to previous reports, Ideal Team Ventures bought the rights to De Tomaso for approximately one million euros in 2015. This team also acquired Gumpert and turned it into Apollo Automobili, which offers the impressive Apollo Intensa Emozione.
De Tomaso was originally founded in 1959 by Argentine-born Alejandro De Tomaso. The company’s most famous car was the De Tomaso Pantera. This iconic vehicle was born from a partnership with Ford. The De Tomaso Pantera combined an exotic Italian look with the 5.8-litre V8 engine from Ford. It was capable of producing 330 CV and a maximum torque of 466 Nm.
Some sources claim that the designers and engineers behind the Apollo Intensa Emozione have been commissioned to ideate the new sports car. If so, fireworks can be expected, since one of the goals of the Apollo Intensa Emozione is to recreate a GT1-style driving experience from the 1990s, both on the track and in competition. It is equipped with a naturally aspirated V12 engine producing around 800 CV, with a total weight of 1,250 kilograms and overwhelming aerodynamic downforce.

If the new De Tomaso manages to capture a bit of the spirit of the Intensa Emozione, it will be a supercar that makes history. It is important to remember that the Apollo Intensa Emozione is limited to 10 units priced at around 2.6 million dollars.
The chassis of the Apollo Intensa Emozione is built on a carbon structure, a material that is also used for the bodywork. The naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V12 engine is of Ferrari origin, so thanks to the combination of reduced weight and engine power it §h47§reaches 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds§h48§.
