DeLorean Motor Company could save the Solstice

Now that Pontiac and Saturn have no home, the future of the small rear-wheel-drive models is uncertain, and as you can imagine, GM’s Wilmington plant has been left without a purpose.
On the other hand, the vice president of the company that revived the legendary DeLorean name last year, James Espey, stated that the spirit of the remembered John DeLorean was always tied to the Pontiac brand.
That was the main reason the company bought a Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe for testing; however, the current situation has changed the company’s objective.
The company now says that the possibility of employing hundreds of people in Wilmington excites them, but it is still unclear how much capital is needed to acquire the plant and what the source of financing will be to carry out a project of such magnitude.
Although for now these are only speculations, DeLorean Motor Company has published some sketches of a 2011 Solstice Coupe, which offer an interesting perspective on what the American company could build if it manages to obtain the required capital.
