Detained at 14 for stealing his father's Ferrari
Believe it or not, a 14-year-old German boy has been arrested on charges including theft and driving without a licence of his father’s Ferrari, a vehicle that, fortunately, was returned undamaged, so we assume the adventure was not “that serious“.
Even so, let’s put ourselves in the picture: imagine you are a wealthy German returning from your holidays in Spain and, while driving your car home along one of Germany’s many motorways, you are stopped by the police to be questioned about the fact that your 14-year-old son took your €200,000 Ferrari for a spin without permission.
Nothing is known about the specific model of the Ferrari. German police have only indicated the make of the vehicle and the situation. After the car was “borrowed” for a drive by an acquaintance of the family, they noticed that the vehicle and the boy had disappeared, alerting the police to a possible theft or kidnapping.
As a result, the police got to work and, after locating the vehicle, pursued it in an attempt to stop it, a chase that lasted several hours. At one point, when the boy was questioned, he claimed that “he was completely remorseful“.
