Rolls-Royce is celebrating 120 years of history this year with various celebrations, such as this Ghost Prism, a limited edition with exclusive aesthetic details

The year 2024 will be very special for Rolls-Royce, as the brand will celebrate a milestone that few brands ever reach: 120 years of history. Several celebrations are sure to be held by Rolls-Royce around its anniversary, the first of which we show you below, doing something the brand excels at: customising vehicles and taking luxury to the highest level.
The celebrations of Rolls-Royce’s anniversary begin with the Ghost Prism, a limited edition of just 120 units worldwide, in honour of the figure the British brand is marking. It draws its inspiration from the world of fashion, since many of the brand’s clients are important and influential figures in that community. For this particular limited edition, Rolls-Royce takes its inspiration from contemporary design, presenting the Ghost Prism with dark and neutral tones accented by colour details, a contrast that also inspired the name of this edition.

Rolls-Royce presents the Ghost Prism with an example in which its bodywork has been finished in Gunmetal grey paint with a mineral finish. It was created through a demanding process, as is usual for this type of treatment at the brand, involving ten steps in which four coats of paint are applied with great care and attention to detail, which are then hand-polished for no less than 16 hours.

The exterior mouldings and inserts on Rolls-Royce vehicles are usually finished in polished stainless steel, but on the Ghost Prism they come in a smoky grey-black tone, which the company calls high-gloss Burnout. To achieve this, all the parts are handled by the brand’s craftsmen and treated by hand: a light abrasive provides the base for a resistant primer, after which four coats of Burnout paint are applied. Once dry, each part is polished individually so that it matches the intense gloss of the rest of the bodywork.

To finish the exterior, future owners of the Ghost Prism can choose from the eye-catching colours Phoenix Red, Turchese, Mandarin and Forge Yellow to add a striking contrast. The chosen colour will be applied to the front bumper and the brake calipers on the outside, while on the inside it will also feature in areas such as the steering wheel, the seats and the door panels, and even in the sparkle of the 1,040 “stars” of the Starlight roof. Naturally, the rest of the interior upholstery can be chosen by the customer from an almost unlimited palette of colours and materials.
