Do you know what the favourite car colour is among Spanish drivers?
A study reveals which bodywork colour Spaniards prefer, and you’ll probably guess it, although the rest of the choices may well surprise you.

When we go to buy a new car, one of the most important points is deciding which colour we want for the bodywork. Although it may seem like a minor issue, most Spaniards have a clear idea of the colour they want for the car they will drive for many years… Do you know which colour is the favourite of Spanish drivers when choosing a new car? We’ll tell you, and you may not be surprised.
According to a study called “Global Automotive Color Trends 2017/2018“, which lists the colours most in demand not only among Spaniards but among car owners worldwide, the most popular bodywork colour in the world is… white. This is no surprise, because it is a colour that improves the vehicle’s visibility, tends to be cheaper and is also cooler in summer, to name just a few of its advantages.

37% of the cars sold worldwide last year were white, although in Europe and Spain the percentage drops to 32% and 30% respectively, somewhat below the global average. According to this study, the second favourite colour among drivers worldwide is at the opposite end of the spectrum: black. Everywhere except Europe and Spain, where second place goes to grey. In our country, black drops to third place, with grey moving into second.
In fourth place, Spaniards go against the rest of the world: while elsewhere this position belongs to silver, in Spain the colour we prefer in fourth place is blue. Just to be contrary… And you, have you already decided which colour you’ll choose when you buy your new car?
