Do you remember the Rolls Royce Wraith Eagle VIII? The brand shows you how it designed this special model in a video
The Rolls Royce Wraith Eagle VIII pays tribute to the pilots who made the first non-stop flight between America and Europe, and we look at its design in this video

A few weeks ago we had the chance to see the Rolls Royce Wraith Eagle VIII, a model designed in detail to commemorate the first transatlantic flight. That flight took place one hundred years ago and, since its protagonists were two British pilots, it could only be Rolls Royce that would celebrate it. The car is a special version of the Rolls Royce Wraith, which we have told you about in this article.
The story of this first flight between Newfoundland and Ireland is very exciting, and it was made possible thanks to the two Rolls Royce Eagle engines, which turned out to be the only part of the aircraft that remained intact throughout the crossing. That is why the Rolls Royce Wraith Eagle VIII is designed to give the driver and the occupants of the vehicle the sensation both pilots experienced on their adventure, but of course, with all the touch of luxury and comfort that is never missing in a Rolls Royce.

The constant danger of freezing is reflected in the clock fitted to the car. The design of the Wraith Eagle VIII wants us to remember that the weather during the crossing was very harsh and that the risk of freezing was constant. Thus, the clock was frozen, and a single glance at the design of this accessory is enough to recall it. In addition, the analogue clock becomes an important feature thanks to the green light it emits. That light was the only point of light the pilots could see during the flight.

The starry sky of the interior, to which clouds have been added to give a greater sense of what the pilots saw during their perilous adventure. The whole design of this special edition has been conceived to offer a fitting tribute to the intrepid pilots. But the team at Rolls Royce’s Collective Bespoke does not want us to take their word for it, and has presented this video summarising the work carried out and the intentions of the brand’s engineers and designers with this car, which is meant to take our breath away.
