Dodge Challenger Black Ghost: the "last call" of the iconic model

Dodge Europe, a brand known for its powerful and iconic muscle cars, announces the tribute “Last Call“, which continues with the project unveiled in March, the Dodge Challenger Shakedown. This initiative, framed within the authentic style of Dodge, gives enthusiasts the last chance to experience the power of the HEMI engine fitted to the Chargers and Challengers.

The brand plans to launch the Challenger Black Ghost across Europe, a version inspired by the legendary 1970 edition, the Dodge Challenger RT SE, which features an exclusive black and chrome appearance. This vehicle represents the second edition of the “Last Call” series to reach the European continent, and it is still expected that another 5 editions will be released.

These special series vehicles are manufactured and sold as limited editions, and their production is carried out exclusively to give the brand’s fans the unique opportunity to own an exclusive model and become part of the iconic legacy of the Last Call generation.

End of production of an icon

Dodge’s tribute to the Charger and Challenger HEMI models, which will stop being produced in their current version from 2024 to adapt to the brand’s electrification, which has extended to Europe. To celebrate these historic models in their final months of existence, the American brand has decided to update seven iconic models to give its followers the opportunity to acquire a totally exclusive product. Five of these models will also be available in Europe. The Dodge Challenger Black Ghost is the second model in the limited edition series to arrive on the continent, following in the footsteps of the Dodge Challenger Shakedown, launched in March 2023 in the European market.

“There are so many legendary muscle cars in Dodge’s history that it was difficult to select the seven vehicles we wanted to honor with our Last Call lineup, but the Black Ghost was an easy choice,” said Tim Kuniskis, Chief Executive Officer of the Dodge brand.

The Dodge Challenger Black Ghost will also make its debut in Europe. This second model introduced on the continent is inspired by the iconic Dodge Challenger RT SE black of 1970, owned by Godfrey Qualls, a muscle car that earned a legendary reputation over time, linked to clandestine street racing in Detroit.

Black Ghost special edition

The 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost was one of the first six models presented in August 2022 during the Dodge Speed Week event at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. Inside this special edition 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost are luxury details such as a glossy dashboard accent Dodge, an Alcantara steering wheel with the S logo, showing that it represents a modern rebirth of the historic vehicle, with a black and chrome look, including exclusive black vinyl graphics with a “crocodile skin” appearance on the roof, similar to those of the original model.

This vehicle features a powerful 807-horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody engine. It maintains the unmistakable spirit of the original Dodge Black Ghost, thanks to elements such as the 20 by 11-inch Satin Carbon Warp Speed wheels, the Black Ghost badge on the interior instrument panel, the black Mopar pins on the hood, and the black six-piston Brembo brake system.
