Dongfeng MAGE VIGO Electric Cars Hybrid Cars SUV
Dongfeng will expand its range in Spain with the new VIGO and MAGE models
Dongfeng adds two new vehicles to its Spanish catalogue with the VIGO and MAGE, available to order in July and with the first units expected in August

It has been a couple of years since Dongfeng arrived in Spain through the Salvador Caetano Auto Group to bring its models to our country. Since then, it has marketed its BOX model, a fully electric vehicle aimed at urban environments with restrained but more than sufficient power to get around the city, along with generous standard equipment and a large-capacity battery that allows fast charges of just 30 minutes to reach 80% of its capacity.
Now Dongfeng has decided that, after a reasonable amount of time since the brand’s arrival and now that it is well established in our country, it is time to expand its catalogue and thus reach a larger number of customers. For the moment, two new models will join the aforementioned BOX: the new VIGO and MAGE, both characterised as SUVs available in fully electric and plug-in hybrid versions.

What we know so far is that the Dongfeng VIGO is a fully electric SUV aimed at the C segment, equipped with an electric motor producing 120 kW (163 CV) and an LFP battery of 51.87 kWh, which gives it a range of up to 340 kilometres under the WLTP cycle. This battery supports DC fast charging, allowing it to go from 30% to 80% of its capacity in around 18 minutes. Dongfeng claims the VIGO will come with a large standard equipment list usually reserved for higher-end models, as well as excellent value for money.

Dongfeng will also offer the MAGE in its Spanish catalogue, a plug-in hybrid SUV (PHEV) that will also focus on the C segment. It is equipped with a turbocharged petrol engine of 110 kW (150 CV) and an electric motor producing 88 kW (120 CV), resulting in a combined output of 220 kW (299 CV). Part of this plug-in hybrid system is a 17 kWh battery that allows it to travel up to 81 kilometres in fully electric mode, and it can exceed 1,000 kilometres of total range.
Dongfeng has confirmed that both the VIGO and the MAGE can be ordered in Spain from next July, with prices starting at 29,990 euros and 31,990 euros respectively, not including financing discounts, promotional campaigns or government incentives. The first units are expected to begin arriving at the end of August.
