Dubai's new police vehicle is... a flying motorbike!
This vehicle can rise up to five metres and reach a top speed of 70 km/h, and it will probably be used to control traffic in the city.

We all know the impressive fleet of fantastic cars that make up its law enforcement forces. It seems they can no longer surprise us, since there is no supercar we would find out of place in this country’s police. Yet they still manage to leave us open-mouthed with their latest acquisitions for chasing down the bad guys. And now, in addition to being able to drive some of the great cars of recent history… they have a flying motorbike!
It is a hoverbike, manufactured by Hoversurf, and it is a combination of a drone, a motorbike and a helicopter, designed for short journeys, but well suited to its task of giving Dubai’s police an image of modernity and efficiency. It is capable of rising up to 5 metres and flying at a top speed of 70 km/h.

The range of this original vehicle is about 20 minutes, and it is fully electric. It can lift around 300 kg, enough to carry a passenger and the equipment needed to do their job. It has not yet been specified what they will use this contraption for, of which for now they will only have one unit, but it will probably serve to control traffic and prevent jams in the city. Which may well be counterproductive, because seeing this vehicle appear suddenly will attract more than a few stares.
This Hoversurf will have to operate in very extreme conditions, because temperatures are very high and dust is almost omnipresent. In addition, it can also be controlled remotely, like a large drone. In this case, the vehicle has a range of up to six kilometres and can be very useful for certain missions.
Furthermore, the Dubai police force took the opportunity to present an intelligent motorbike, powered by an electric motor, equipped with eight cameras that provide a 360º view around the vehicle. This vehicle can reach 200 km/h and has a range of about eight hours of normal use.
