Elektrus by PG
The Elektrus is a strange design from the German company PG, built on the same platform as the Lotus Elise that underpins the Tesla Roadster, with a top speed of 300 km/h.

PG is a German company that has specialised in manufacturing electric bicycles (yes, you read that right) and is now attempting to break into the electric car world, with a rather odd design based on the Lotus Elise, just like the Tesla Roadster.
PG has pigeonholed its Elektrus as a city sports car, simply on the premise that it is an electric car trying to be sporty. According to PG, the bodywork is made from fibreglass- and carbon-reinforced plastic, which gives it far greater durability than the rest. What doesn’t quite work is the enormous grille, although its makers must have had their reasons for such an atrocity.

Although PG has not revealed details of the drivetrain, it is known that the claimed range of its batteries is 350 kilometres, which places the Elektrus within the typical group of electric vehicles that promise a great deal, but it remains to be seen whether what they promise will be delivered in practice. There are also solar panels on the rear that collect energy from the sun and recharge the batteries while the car is in motion. Recharging could also be done by plugging the car into a socket, in the usual way.
Another peculiarity of the Elektrus is that the driver can choose which transmission to control: manual or automatic. It can also select what sound the Elektrus will make, since given the lack of noise from these vehicles, nothing gets the blood going like the sound of a V8 or a Formula 1 engine.
According to the performance data, the Elektrus appears able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h. All of this at a price of €382,000.
