F1 2018 United States Grand Prix: preview, timetable and how to watch it on television
Check here the timetable to follow the 2018 F1 United States Grand Prix, a race in which Lewis Hamilton can already be mathematically crowned champion

This weekend F1 returns with a new event, the 2018 United States Grand Prix. The Circuit of the Americas, in Austin, hosts this grand prix, which has been held at this venue since 2012. Other circuits, such as Indianapolis and Watkins Glen, hosted editions of this grand prix, which has been part of the World Championship since 1959, although with some periods of absence.
Since it has been run in Austin, Lewis Hamilton has been the dominant force in this race. The Briton won the last race held in Indianapolis, back in 2007, and has won five of the six races held on the Texan track. The only exception to his dominance came in 2013, when Sebastian Vettel won while still driving for Red Bull.
So Hamilton is the favourite to win this race, something that could already give him the world title. After his victory at the Japanese Grand Prix and Vettel’s setback, when the Ferrari driver could only finish sixth at Suzuka, the mathematics favour the driver of Mercedes, and by scoring 8 points more than Seb Vettel, there would be celebrations in the pit for Lewis Hamilton’s fifth title.
So that you do not have to reach for the calculator, here are all the possibilities for Hamilton to celebrate the title in the United States:
- If Hamilton wins the race, he will be champion if Vettel does not finish second
- If Hamilton finishes second, he will be champion if Vettel finishes fifth or lower
- If Hamilton finishes third, he will be champion if Vettel finishes seventh or lower
- If Hamilton finishes fourth, he will be champion if Vettel finishes eighth or lower
- If Hamilton finishes fifth, he will be champion if Vettel finishes ninth or lower
- If Hamilton finishes sixth, he will be champion if Vettel does not score points
