FIAT Panda 4x40º: the special edition to celebrate the model's 40th anniversary
The Italian manufacturer wanted to mark the 40th anniversary of this version of the Panda with a limited edition, though it is not yet known whether it will reach Spain.

The FIAT Panda is one of the manufacturer’s best-known models and has had a long career. One of its characteristics is its very competitive price, in keeping with what it offers its owners. But beyond this small city car, there is a version that offers something that seems impossible: all-wheel drive.
This is the Panda 4×4, a model that was born in 1983 and added four-wheel drive, which was surprising. It thus became the most affordable 4×4 on the market. After a pause caused by the events of recent years, the Panda 4×4 has returned to the market. And it has done so in the form of a limited edition to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Over these 40 years on the market, 800,000 units have been sold, and to celebrate this, 1,983 units of this 40th anniversary special edition, called the Panda 4×40º Limited Edition, have been built. It is based on the Cross trim, and its bodywork has been painted in ivory, although its Style alloy wheels come in two-tone.

For contrast in black, there are the exterior mirror covers and the side mouldings. These feature the “4×40º” logo in red. Several stickers in the shape of the original Panda can also be seen. Inside, the ivory colour also appears. It takes centre stage on the dashboard and in the seat inserts. There are also commemorative logos in various places in the cabin.
Equipment and engine
Although its appearance is very similar to that of the Panda in its Cross version, it adds several specific elements. A bumper with fog lights and daytime running lights with LED technology have been added. Tinted glass, red towing hooks and black roof bars are also fitted.
This model is also equipped with an adjustable driver’s seat, DAB radio controlled by a seven-inch touchscreen, which also runs a multimedia system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also features automatic climate control and rear parking sensors.
As for the engine, it is a 1.0-litre unit with mild hybridisation. This special model was presented at an event celebrating the model’s anniversary. It is not yet known whether this model will mark the start of a new production cycle for the Panda 4×4, given that it is a reliable, economical and practical car.
