Fifth Gear and a 192 km/h crash test
Fifth Gear carries out a 192 km/h crash test, with catastrophic results.

We really have no idea what happens to a vehicle in a high-speed crash; we only know that we are going to be injured or even die, and that it is a risk that is present every time we get into a car. The truth is that the physical forces involved in the deceleration and the damage caused by the deformation of the car in a high-speed crash are staggering, hard to imagine when sitting comfortably in front of a computer.
What Fifth Gear has done with this test is simulate a head-on crash into a wall at 192 km/h. Something similar to what EuroNCAP or the American IIHS do, although they run their tests at speeds no higher than 85 km/h.
To illustrate: the handsome (and unfortunate) Ford Focus used in this test has been reduced to nothing, the dummies crushed within the shapeless mass the car has become. Just imagine those dummies were people.
