NIO Electric Cars Compact Urban
Firefly will be Nio's new brand for marketing affordable electric cars
The Chinese brand does not want to lose the possibility of having urban-range electric models and plans to launch the Firefly brand in Europe in 2025.

Nio has begun to become known in Europe, even though it has not yet reached the entire European territory with the brand’s first models. It will position itself as a premium electric car brand. The first to arrive will be the ET5, ET7 and EL7, but the Chinese brand has another surprise up its sleeve. The company’s headquarters has just announced that a new brand, designed for the European market, will be launched.
This brand will be called Firefly and is scheduled to reach European markets in 2025. Nio’s intention is for this brand to encompass several models designed to compete with other manufacturers that are betting on more affordable electric cars. The growing demand for this type of vehicle has prompted this strategic move by Nio, which wants to win an interesting share of the European market.

Firefly, the brand of affordable electric cars
One only has to look at the best-selling electric cars in our market. These are the MG4, the Dacia Spring or the Fiat 500e, compared with other, more expensive models. So Nio does not want to let this opportunity pass to enter that segment before other brands do. One of the markets chosen to introduce this new brand is Spain, where, in addition to the Tesla Model Y and Model X, more affordable electric vehicles are sought.
This also happens in Italy and France, so the new brand is expected to have chosen these regions for its launch. As for the price range, only the prices that will apply in China have been announced so far. Cars are expected to range from 100,000 to 200,000 yuan, which is roughly equivalent to between 13,000 and 26,000 euros.
This new brand will not come alone. The creation of another brand has been announced, which will serve as a bridge between the most affordable vehicles and those carrying the Premium badge. It will be called Alps and has no firm launch date. As soon as we learn more details about both launches, rest assured that we will inform you and present the models they plan to launch in Europe.
