First captures of the Audi Q5 RS

Here are three photos of what appears to be a test prototype of the upcoming Audi Q5 RS.

The rear of the vehicle in the photographs carries the TDI Quattro badge, but the “tetra-exhaust” system fitted to it is suspicious, since nothing like it has ever been seen on a Audi diesel before. The modification Audi has made to the rear bumper to accommodate the extra exhausts is also clearly visible.

To what was said in the previous paragraph, we must add the aluminium alloy wheels typical of RS models, widened wheel arches, and a Heilbronn registration plate, the location where the research and development of the RS range takes place.

What lies under the bonnet we do not know, but in 2009 Audi presented the Q5 Custom Concept in Austria. This one had a 3.0 TFSI V6 engine with 408 CV and 500 Nm of torque. That is a very good clue as to where things are heading.

By the way, all of this goes against what Audi stated just a few months ago (check out this news). Or perhaps they already feel ready to compete with BMW.
