It will be the main highlight of the Toyota stand at the Paris Motor Show, and its only exclusive reveal so far, since the iQ and Urban Cruiser that will accompany it were already shown in Geneva this spring, and later at the London show in the summer. For now it is known that it will continue to be built at Toyota’s British plant in Burnaston, and that it will go on sale in early 2009.

However, Toyota has not revealed any information about engines, versions or prices for the Avensis, as it will wait for its presentation in Paris, although it is expected to get more powerful engines with lower fuel consumption and emissions.

What is known, for example, is that it grows by five centimetres in both width and length compared with the previous generation. The interior could also see an improvement in both space and quality, although the previous Avensis already had one of the best cabins in its segment, so few changes would be needed.
