Last September, our colleague Fernando Álvarez announced the arrival on the market of the new Peugeot 2008 Small Crossover Concept, a compact SUV that will try to compete with models such as the Opel Mokka or the Nissan Juke. The car, as we learned at the Paris Motor Show, would be an evolution of the 208.
Now the first images of this new model are circulating online. There are always questions about why the images have been released, since there are still a couple of months until we see its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, in early March; surely Peugeot wants to hear opinions before the long-awaited debut.
The model, at first glance, does not differ much from the figures we already knew: about 1,140 millimetres long and 1,740mm wide. As for engines, it will share the wide range of diesel and petrol units of the 208 supermini, including the 1.6 turbodiesel petrol of around 150CV.
The world premiere, as we have said, will be in Geneva in early March, while first sales will begin at the end of this year.
