Over the past few months much has been said about the arrival of a new generation of Ecoboost engines that would sit under the bonnet of the 2015 Ford Mustang, turbocharged four-cylinder units exclusive to the entry-level variants of the range. Today, we have also been able to observe the first clay sketches of the next Mustang.

The photograph that heads the article, together with those you have below, were taken in the muscle car’s design studio, the place from which more aerodynamic shapes have been revealed, with a widened rear end and a return to the lines of the model’s first generation.

The design of the vehicle, as we can see, shows a retro look, trying to offer its future customers a modern car with old-school styling. From Ford, in addition to wanting to pay tribute to the classic Mustang, they also want to create a vehicle that is less American and more global, with the aim of increasing sales in the old continent.

The next generation of the Ford Mustang will reach European and American dealerships at the end of 2014, although its official presentation is expected at the Detroit Auto Show that same year, when we will be able to see in full detail the image the designers have wanted to give it.
