Ford EcoSport: new features for the compact SUV
The
Ford EcoSport receives a new diesel engine, an all-wheel-drive system and many other options.
The SUV segment is the fastest-growing segment in Europe. SUV registrations grew by more than 21 percent year-on-year, reaching more than a quarter of all passenger car registrations in 2016. For this reason, Ford has decided to introduce a series of new features on one of its flagship SUVs, the Ford EcoSport. This compact SUV is the American brand’s offering for one of the segments with the most new launches in recent months. Ford’s small crossover is introducing, for the first time, an all-wheel-drive system, alongside a 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engine. The model has also received more customisation options, including a contrasting-colour extended roof, and the well-known ST-Line sporty version.
As we mentioned, the new Ford EcoSport offers, for the first time, intelligent All-Wheel Drive technology that provides improved traction both on and off the road, combined with a new 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engine producing up to 125 CV and improved CO2 emissions.

A sporty version inspired by the Ford Performance range, the EcoSport ST-Line, will also be available for the first time. The new Ford EcoSport incorporates driver assistance technologies including the SYNC 3 connectivity system, Cruise Control with Adjustable Speed Limiter and a Rear View Camera.
The new model features a dynamic, robust and sharp exterior design, is available in 12 bold colours and offers even more customisation possibilities, including contrasting roof colour options that extend to the window pillars, the upper part of the windows, the rear roof spoiler and the wing mirrors. The user-focused interior features a floating eight-inch central touchscreen, a heated steering wheel and intelligent storage solutions, including an adjustable boot floor.

“Ford has sold more than 166,000 units of the EcoSport compact SUV in Europe since we launched the model on the continent in 2014, and sales last year grew by 40 percent,” said Steven Armstrong, president of Ford Europe, Middle East and Africa. “The new Ford EcoSport gives users even more style, comfort, capacity and choice, blending the robustness of an SUV with the practical spirit of a city car.”
