Ford increases theft protection with the SecuriAlert app
Owners of a Ford can access a theft alert system for their vehicle through the FordPass app, which notifies them of any incident.

Car theft remains a fairly significant problem in many cities. Although many devices are sold to prevent thieves from getting into the vehicle, this type of theft continues to happen. Alarms, steering locks and battery disconnectors are some of the devices sold to protect vehicles. Now, Ford offers an aid to complement all these devices.
The SecuriAlert security system, which replaces the Guard Mode, is a remote complement to vehicle security. Through the mobile phone and with the FordPass app, the owner of the connected vehicle can receive any information about an attempt to access the car, whether someone tries to force the door or actually gains access with the key.

Ease of use
Once the SecuriAlert function is activated from the FordPass app, the car’s various sensors are switched on to monitor activity around it. If someone tries to access the car while it is activated, the sensors detect it and, through the modem built into the vehicle, a push notification is sent to the owner’s mobile phone.
The alert indicates what type of activity has occurred, the time and the vehicle’s last location, so the owner has all the information needed to understand what happened and can go there or call the emergency services if necessary.
This system works even when someone tries to access the car with the key, something that does not happen with a traditional alarm. This is very useful against the use of a copied or cloned key, so security is increased against this type of theft attempt. When the owner accesses the car, they only need to open the app and deactivate the alert system, which will then be out of service and will not generate alert notifications.
