Ford studies the arrival of the Fiesta RS

Sporty versions of the Ford are well known and appreciated by all motoring enthusiasts. Both the ST and RS models offer sporty driving sensations at a good price.
This time we are talking about the Ford Fiesta, which already offers the recently introduced ST version and now has the chance to add one more step up in power.
It would be the first time the Fiesta receives an RS version, although the previous generation already had an ST variant powered by a 2-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 180 CV.
Little is known yet about a model that, while being developed in parallel with the Focus RS, has not yet received the approval of the top management. However, this does not prevent work on the small city car from continuing, with a possible launch in 2015.

For the exterior, should it see the light of day, certain details are planned to reveal the character of this model, such as bumpers with large air intakes, as well as alloy wheels of a new design, a more aggressive exhaust system and a larger brake set-up, which could well include fixed rather than floating calipers.
In the interior the changes would not be many, since the Fiesta ST already sets itself apart from its siblings in the range thanks to the inclusion of the excellent seats signed by Recaro, a specific instrument cluster and metal trim details throughout the cabin.

The engine that would power the Fiesta RS would be a new evolution of the 1.6 EcoBoost, which on this occasion could see its output raised to 230 CV, making it the most powerful of the city cars, going head to head with other big names such as the VW Polo WRC or the MINI Cooper S John Works.
