There is no doubt that the 1-litre Ecoboost engine has become a more than interesting option across a wide range of Ford models. The most recent addition to this engine, one of the most economical in the world in terms of consumption, is the Tourneo Connect, which will in future be fitted with this small but interesting engine. The Tourneo Kombi also features the introduction of the 6-speed gearbox for the variant with the 1.6 Ecoboost engine.

The official consumption figures from Ford for the 1-litre Ecoboost version are around 5.6 litres/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 129 g/km, a 12 per cent improvement over the Volkswagen Caddy (according to Ford), one of its rivals in the same segment. It also offers Active City Stop and the SYNC voice-activated integrated connectivity system.

The new vehicle offers excellent functionality for active users, with sliding rear doors, a highly flexible seat arrangement and plenty of storage spaces, including overhead lockers in aircraft-cabin style above the rear seats. As on all Tourneo Connect models, the optional equipment includes Bluetooth with voice control, satellite navigation, rain sensors, automatic headlight activation, electronic stability control and hill start assist.

The Duratorq TDCi 1.6 engine has also improved its consumption, achieving up to 4.6 litres/100 km and CO2 emissions of 120 g/km, a 25 per cent improvement over the current model.

As for the new 1-litre version, it will be offered in Europe at some point this year, although it has not been specified exactly when it will reach Spanish dealerships.
