Ford Troller TR-X: an odd conceptual off-roader in São Paulo

Ford shows us at the São Paulo show the Troller TR-X, a fairly conceptual off-roader, of which we know few details. It will not go into production.

I understand that even off-roaders and SUVs dedicated especially to this category must evolve and adapt to certain current design lines, but I think that in the case of the Troller TR-X they have gone to extremes; without being told in advance what brand this concept is, few ideas come to mind about which brand it is.

It looks like a Ford Bronco of our day, or a cross between a Land Cruiser and a Wrangler, as our colleagues at InautoNews rightly point out. However, Ford has not been mistaken, not by a long shot. In 2007, the American brand acquired the Brazilian brand Troller, a manufacturer of off-roaders (these vehicles are very popular in Brazil), and now it shows us the fruit of its involvement in that company, with a model designed at the design boards of Ford in Brazil.

Not much is known about this TR-X, only the exterior details we can make out, since the press release oddly talks about the Troller T4, a model that Troller builds locally in Brazil. The TR-X stands out for its metallic green color, mixed with chrome and satin metal (it is not plastic) that contrasts with the body color, and it is equipped with LED lights and generous all-terrain wheels.

The TR-X was designed in Brazil, but it has not been approved by Ford for production. However, it seems to have received good reviews in the days we have spent at the São Paulo show; I personally liked it quite a lot and with some adaptations it would be a perfect off-roader for the brand.
