From Finland comes the rival to the Tesla Roadster: ERA Electric Raceabout

Among the many companies pouring their efforts into electric cars, a Finnish company has emerged that has created the ERA (Electric Raceabout). The ERA is a development of the Department of Applied Sciences at the University of Helsinki, which also involves the assembler Valmet. Three years ago we brought you the first news about this vehicle.

But the ERA is now a firm project. The specifications of the ERA tell us that it weighs 1,250 kilos, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under five seconds, has all-wheel drive with four electric motors, a carbon-fibre chassis, and achieves a range of almost 300 kilometres.

Recently, the ERA was seen at the Nürburgring, attracting attention and demonstrating that electric cars are already beginning to show their more sporting side.

The ERA is a handsome sports car with a good deal of technology on board. But it must be said that this lap of the Nürburgring is one of the most boring I have ever seen.
