Genesis Neolun, the new concept car from the Koreans shown in the United States

Several of the best-known brands have a sub-brand dedicated to the premium range. These are brands that offer models far more attractive than their regular ones. Hyundai, for example, uses the Genesis brand to develop higher-end vehicles. Now, Genesis is focusing its development on electric cars and is offering several models of this kind. At the New York Show it has just presented the new Genesis Neolun, an electric SUV that is set to showcase the brand’s capabilities in this segment.

The main purpose of this model is to offer a preview of the image and technology that future models of the brand will use. This vehicle aims to position itself in the segment of large, premium crossovers. The brand had already presented a smaller SUV, aimed at competing with MINI, the Genesis Mint, so this model will sit at the other end of the range, at the higher end.

The design of this concept SUV features rounded lines, which creates a more modern look while retaining the rugged, powerful character that models of this type should have. The soft edges promise good aerodynamic treatment.

That said, we must not forget that this is a concept model, which means many of the aesthetic and design features are meant to surprise rather than to be used in the real world. The absence of a B-pillar and the suicide doors highlight this aspect.

A more comfortable interior

The interior has also been worked on to offer a comfortable and very spacious design. The front and rear are more connected thanks to the deliberately absent B-pillar. This is a solution that could easily make it into production, so it is possible we will see it in a future model from the brand.

The front seats can be rotated to face the rear ones, while several areas of the cabin are heated by radiant surfaces, along with a large central screen and other features that make it a very attractive and efficient car.
