Geneva Motor Show 2014: Jeep

At the Geneva Motor Show 2014 Jeep the brand arrived with a novelty that is generating a lot of buzz: the Jeep Renegade, the small off-roader (and not an SUV, since depending on the version it comes with a reduction gearbox).

But there were also other novelties present, such as the new Jeep Cherokee with a 170 hp diesel engine, a special edition of the Jeep Wrangler called Rubicon X Package and the Cherokee Overland Concept.

Jeep Renegade

This is the small off-roader based on the platform of the Jeep Fiat 500L. In Geneva it was present in two versions, a 4×4 with the Jeep Active Drive all-wheel-drive system and another 4×2 with front-wheel drive.

In addition, it had two engines: on one hand the 1.4 petrol with 140 hp and on the other the powerful 2.0 diesel with 170 hp and all-wheel drive. We were able to see the car inside, highlighting the quality of the finishes, especially the dashboard plastics, which are a soft material with good fit.

On the other hand, in terms of space it is noticeable that it is small, although it has a generous boot despite its dimensions. It includes many details that honour the Jeep logo, from the speakers to the interior next to the rear-view mirror.

Jeep Cherokee

Among the novelties in Geneva there were several Cherokees in Trailhawk trim, which, like the 4×4 Renegade also with this trim, represents the highest performance level in terms of off-road capability.

There was also the Cherokee Overland Concept, which includes new equipment elements that raise the finishes currently found in the range, standing out for example with the uniform single-colour exterior bodywork and leather interior details.
