Golem, the beastly off-roader "Made in Spain" with 700 CV of power
Golem is the creation of DSD Design & Motorsport together with students from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and only 30 exclusive units will be built

Spain has traditionally been one of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers, and it is also a breeding ground for great car engineers and designers, as well as successful racing teams and drivers. Yet, despite this, we are not a country mainly known for designing and building “homegrown” vehicles, which is why, when models like the Golem come to light, we have every reason to be proud.
Golem is the curious and eye-catching name chosen for this spectacular off-roader from the Alicante-based company DSD Design & Motorsport, presented for now as a full-scale prototype in the final-year projects of the Master in Automotive Styling and Design at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. This collaboration aims to give greater visibility to the “factory” that produces designers with strong career prospects every year, and where UPV students have been working for a full year.

The Golem is truly spectacular from every angle, a vehicle designed to put a grin from ear to ear when driving off-road. Its design is entirely futuristic, showcasing very pronounced, prominent lines that give it that brutal bad-boy look, reinforced by the muscular presence of its wide body with huge wheel arches. Broadly speaking, given its resemblance, you could say it is a reinterpretation of the off-roaders that compete in the Baja events, due to its pick-up-style body, although this will only be one of several configurations available.
As you can imagine, beneath all that bodywork you won’t find a docile engine for relaxed cruising; instead, under its bonnet sits a V8 engine, whose origin is currently unknown, delivering no less than around 700 CV of power, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox; it will also include a four-wheel-steering system.

We cannot offer much more information because, for now, there isn’t any, and I say “for now” because Golem will not remain a simple prototype; it will become a reality, with plans to build 30 exclusive units over the next three years, using the best possible components for each area. In this way, Golem joins the 12 units of the Bóreas model from DSD Design & Motorsport, whose sales are expected to begin at the end of the year through auctions.
