Goodbye, SsangYong, hello, KG Mobility
The South Korean brand has been bought by the KG conglomerate, which has decided to rename it KG Mobility, although this change will be gradual.

This week we have said a definitive goodbye to the SsangYong brand. No, it is not that the South Korean brand has stopped being sold and has disappeared. It is that one of those industrial movements that occur from time to time has taken place, and the brand has become the property of an industrial conglomerate, which has decided to discontinue the brand and frame its models under another name.
The steel giant KG has taken over the brand, and its intention is to change the brand to fit its group’s business plan. For now, the change will not take place immediately, due to the vote against this action by several shareholders who want to keep the current brand. However, the transition from one brand to the new one, KG Mobility, has already begun.

This is the name of the company that will take charge of SsangYong and that will allow it to keep moving forward. For the moment, the brand will continue to appear in all markets, although it will do so alongside the new name, KG Mobility. The new logo that will define the brand is being prepared, and it will begin to appear alongside the current one until the latter disappears definitively.
The new brand will debut with the Torres EVX, the electric SUV that was presented recently. In its images, it could be seen that there was no emblem on the front. This already indicates that the new logo will be included in this new proposal for the brand. It will also be the one displayed by the three new electric models that the South Korean brand is preparing.
Of these, we only know the range to which these models belong and their internal names. The first will be a pick-up, whose designation is 0100. The second is a compact SUV, currently called KR10. Finally, a larger SUV is being prepared, which is named F100.
All these models are going to be manufactured on the platform the company has developed, which will feature strong connectivity and even several autonomous driving functions.
