The off-road tyre industry takes a giant leap with the launch of the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT in the European market. This tyre represents an advance in technology and performance, marking a new era in on/off road driving. Designed to overcome the most extreme challenges of roads and rough terrain, the Wrangler Duratrac RT is the answer to the growing demands of SUV and 4×4 drivers.

The Wrangler Duratrac RT, the latest addition to the prestigious Goodyear line, is a 50/50 tyre, balanced for use both on the road and off it. Its bold look, durability and unmatched handling make it the perfect companion for the current generation of off-road vehicles.

One of the features that makes the Wrangler Duratrac RT stand out is its ability to deliver exceptional off-road performance without compromising on-road driving comfort. This tyre adapts perfectly to both situations, giving drivers the confidence and quietness they want on the road, without sacrificing toughness in more demanding conditions.

The name “Wrangler” has been synonymous with adventure and endurance since 1976, and the addition “RT” in the name, which stands for “rough terrain,” signals this product’s excellence on challenging ground. This suffix was first used on the original Wrangler tyre, when the range was created for specialised 4×4 vehicles, and since then it has been a symbol of off-road performance.

Europe is experiencing a steady rise in the popularity of SUVs, with expected growth of 5.5% year-on-year over the next five years. In this segment, dominated by premium and value brands, which account for 96% of the summer off-road SUV tyre market, drivers increasingly demand exceptional performance both on and off the road. According to a Goodyear survey, 95% of customers prioritise durability, followed by driving comfort and longevity.

The Wrangler Duratrac RT stands out for its cutting-edge off-road technology, which gives drivers unmatched control, grip and confidence. Goodyear’s Tri-Shield technology uses reinforced materials that increase resistance to penetration and reliability. With its three-layer construction, it offers significantly greater tear resistance compared with traditional two-layer construction, making it the perfect choice for facing hostile terrain.

DuraEdge technology provides exceptional grip, even on side slopes. The improved design of the tread extends over the shoulders, providing greater protection against rocky obstacles and giving the tyre a more aggressive look at the shoulder. In addition, Goodyear’s optimised tread pattern performs well in adverse conditions, without sacrificing overall performance and on-road comfort.

The Wrangler Duratrac RT is a product built to meet the demands of true off-road enthusiasts, and we are seeing growing consumer interest across Europe. The tyre’s outstanding durability, traction and ability to tackle challenging terrain perfectly embody Goodyear’s adventurous spirit.”

During the fourth quarter of 2023, Goodyear will continue launching Wrangler Duratrac RT sizes for rim diameters ranging from 15″ to 19″, with a total of 15 sizes available. The arrival of this tyre represents a revolution in the off-road world, raising the bar for what drivers can expect from their 4×4 tyres. It marks the beginning of a new era of off-road adventure in Europe.
